Just the opposite effect of a timelapse, but with the same purpose. Slow motion is great because it shows a different perspective on time. Bringing to light a different world we are not used too. With normal footage we would shoot at 24 fps (frames per second), but these clips we shot at 240 fps. Essentially, turning 1 second into 10. Enjoy!

Sailing On Skydeck Miami
It is always fun to do a project for Miamism.com. Rather than accepting the status quo, Ines of Miamism.com is always ready to take a project to the next creative level. And the locations she provides are always stunning!
In this case, the location is Skydeck. A great rooftop venue in the middle of South Beach with some of the best views around. The architecture of this space mimics the top deck of a luxury yacht, which was a great inspiration for the film. Every shot in the film is meant to create the experience of traveling on a yacht, from passing locations, to the experience of the sunset on the horizon. And the results are pretty amazing! We can’t wait to work on the next Miamism film!

The Community of Iris On The Bay
When Álban Communications and The Spear Group commissioned us to do a project about Normandy Isle and Iris On The Bay, we, again, got immediately excited. Why? Because Normandy Isle is our neighborhood, our home. We also immediately understood why Álban Communications and The Spear Group wanted to do a film about Normandy Isle. It is a little secret in the middle of Miami Beach with a 5 minute drive to the beach and without the commotion of an urban area like South Beach, it is truly a great place to live. Yet no one really knows of the location.
While making this film, I fell in love with this neighborhood even more. The sunsets & sunrises we filmed are just amazing to watch at all points around the island, and everyone who took part in the project from the Miami Beach Commissioner to the local restauranteurs were really inviting.
It was also great to hear from Miami Beach’s leadership about the progress of the area. From the President of the Miami Beach Chamber to the Captain of The Miami Beach Police, it was an informative day.
And I can’t forget about the amazing 3D renderings of Iris On The Bay created by Metrostudio.
“They were resourceful, professional, accommodating and maintained a positive attitude throughout our engagement.”

A Hawk In My Timelapse
I don’t normally shoot a lot of timelapses, but for the past few projects I have been using them more and more. It really helps to see the beauty of a location at all times of day; especially sunrise or sunset. Shooting timelapse is also like x-mas. I never know what I will be getting until I combine all the stills together. In this shot, I was blown away when I saw that a beautiful Red-Shouldered Hawk happened to land on Skydeck Miami’s railing right in front of my camera! It is easy to forget about nature when in a place as vibrant as South Beach, but this hawk let me know otherwise. Enjoy!

Dual Speeds For Warrior Nation
For this shot filmed for Warrior Nations minute long promo, we took the 30 minute long clip and cut it in half. The top portion was sped up a gazillion times, and the lower was slower down 50%.. The contrast of the film speeds really help create this cool dramatic style associated in the video.
